Kevin Callaghan (born 1982, Co Donegal) at present he lives in London where he is doing an Masters in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art. He completed his BA (Hons) degree in the Crawford College of Art and design. Kevin has been studying ceramics for nine years and now with the strong exploration and experimentation at the Royal College of Art, he is working in a cross-disaplinary manner.

 

Kevin completed with a distinction the internationally acclaimed Ceramic Skills and Training Course run by the Craft Council of Ireland in 2008. He undertook a residency at the Pottery Workshop and experimental Sculpture Factory in Jingdezhen, China the porcelain capital of the world in 2009. Here he had his first solo show entitled "Hui Pai". The funding of this residency came from the Frank Ryan Travel Bursary Award for 2009 from the Irish Institute if Designers.

In 2010-11 Kevin finished another award winning residency at the National Sculpture Factory in Cork City

 

Kevin’s work is in collections at the Ceramics Museum in Jingdezhen, China, (OPW) Office of Public Works, O Leary Insurance in Ireland and Cork City Council, Private collection of stainless steel origami birds at the Bodega Bar in Cork 2011.
